Vampire!Romania x Reader
Author's Note: If Romania seems OOC to you, it's because I don't know the character. And he's only made one appearance in the manga. So... yeah. :I I kind of imagine him being like Dracula for some reason. DON'T HATE ME.
You stepped up to a large mansion door, taking a deep breath and knocking a few times.
You where at your friend Romania's house for Halloween this year. You decided you weren't going to celebrate and were just going to stay at Romania's for a few days.
The door was answered quickly by the blonde man, his odd fangs glinting in the faint sun light.
"Ah! ____! You're here! Come in!" He turned, allowing you inside.
You glanced around, the entire time you've known Romania you have never really been to his house, he would always come to yours. And you had to say.
His home was gorgeous.
It had an old English Victorian feel to it and was very spacious.
You where in aw at the large spiral staircase in the foyer, the wooden banisters carved into breath taking images of mythical creatures.
"Wow." You breathed, glancing up at the large chandelier that hung over head.
Romania laughed behind you, closing the door with a loud 'click'. "I'm glad you enjoy the look! Even I still marvel at the beauty of this place."
"How have I never been over before?" You tore your gaze from your beautiful surroundings to look at your eager looking friend.
He shrugged, his fangs still glinting.
You remembered the first time you met him. You where confused by his red eyes and sharp fangs, but he explained that his fangs where due to a condition and his eyes where similar to another country called Prussia.
You had not questioned it since then, and you didn't ever plan to again. But you still couldn't help but stare at them in confused wonder.
"Come, ____." He reached for your hand, still smiling. "Let us take a seat, yes?"
"Hm?" You blinked and then returned his smile. "Oh, right. Of course."
He lead you to the Parlor Room just off to the right of the foyer, motioning for you too set on a large silk couch.
You found that a bit odd. A couch made of silk? Who ever heard of such a thing.
"I'll return in a moment with beverages." Romania spoke up, breaking you out of your thoughts on the couch.
You glanced up at him as he turned to walk away. You watched him leave then looked around the Parlor.
It was like you took a giant leap backwards in time. Like you where in a 17th or 18th century English mansion.
There was a large, black grand piano not to far from where you sat and it imediately drew your attention.
You had never told anyone, besides Romania of course, but you secretly loved piano's. You even took lessons a few years back.
"I see you like the piano."
You jumped slightly, looking up to see Romania standing beside you, two wine glasses in hand. "O-Oh. Yes."
He handed you one glass and sat across from you on a arm chair, taking a sip of his own.
You stared down at the red liquid in your glass. Red wine. You knew Romania liked it, but you had never really tried it before.
"So." Romania brought you out of your thoughts once more, making you look up at him. "Why exactly did you want to come to my home this time, ____?"
"Well.." You felt your cheeks begin to heat up a bit as he gave you a small smirk. "Y-You know it's Halloween.. and... I kinda just wanted to spend some... quality time together, you know. And I wanted to come to your house because I've never seen it. And I heard from other countries that it was beautiful. And really... they weren't lying one bit."
"Is that so?" He leaned back in his chair, swirling his wine around in the glass. "Well, I'm glad you enjoy it so much, ____. It's been awhile since I've had a new set of eyes to gaze upon these wonders with me."
You nodded, your eyes returning to the Grand Piano once again.
After a moment of silence, Romania finally spoke up.
"Why don't you go play it? I adore hearing you play."
Your cheeks began to heat up once again and you looked back to him. "O-Oh! I couldn't possibly!"
"Oh please." He pouted a bit. "I insist that you do. The way you play is very soothing."
You chuckled and smiled. "Alright." You stood from the couch and walked over to the piano, setting at the bench and uncovering the keys. You placed your hands in a certain position and glanced up at Romania, who was now standing beside you. "Is there anything you'd like me to play?"
"Hmm..." He tapped his glass to the tip of his chin. "You know 'Moonlight Sonata'... correct?"
"Yes, of course."
"Then I would love to hear you play that." A smirk returned to his lips, revealing a fang.
You gave a sheepish smile and began to play.
Your fingers moved flawless over the keys, you spent an entire year learning that one song, because it was your favorite and so that you could play it with no mistakes.
Romania was silent through out your little performance, a range of emotions playing in his crimson eyes. He watched your hands as they glided over every keys. Eventually, towards the middle of the song, he sat down his glass and sat next to you on the bench, playing along and making it seem as though there was a slight echo effect.
Your cheeks heated up more as your hands brushed briefly, but you continued playing, attempting to pay no mind to it.
At the end of the song, with the final note, Romania looked at you with a rather serious look in his eye.
He took your hands in his own, raising them to his lips and pecking a swift kiss on your knuckle. "You're hands." He glanced up at you. "Can make such beautiful art in just their movement."
You swore if you could see yourself that moment, it probably looked like all the blood in your body had just rushed to your head. You gave a sheepish smile. "T-Thank you, Romania."
He pulled you closer slightly, embracing you in a semi-tight hug. "I thank you."
"W-Why?" You blinked as he pulled you away.
"For being such an endearing friend, ____."
"You're welcome... I guess." You knitted your brows together, frowning a bit.
"We've known each other for a long time, yes?" He looked into your eyes, capturing your gaze.
"Well.. there is a secret I've been keeping from you, my dear ____." He sighed then, looking away.
"W-What is it?" Your face now felt like it was on fire.
"Come with me and I will show you." He stood from the bench, extending a hand towards you.
You took it hesitantly, standing and following him out of the Parlor Room and back into the foyer.
"Now... this may shock you." He muttered, glancing up the stairs.
"What is it?" You blinked.
He sighed. "It's better I just come out with it, then." He glanced back at you, sincerity in his eyes. "I'm a... vampire... ____."
You blinked, confused. Then you smiled and laughed loudly, slapping a hand roughly on his shoulder. "Haha! That's a good one! You almost had be going there, Romania! You really are in the Halloween spirit this year!"
"I'm serious, _____." He scowled a bit, obviously upset you didn't take him seriously. "I really am."
"And I'm the Queen of England!" You laughed again. "Come on, Romania. I'm onto your little trick!"
"Would you like me to prove it to you?"
You became silent, noting his scowl. "P-Prove... how?"
"I can show you what I can do." He flashed his fangs.
A sudden fear raced through you and you shook your head. "N-No, no! You don't have to!"
"I insist." He brought you over to the banister and placed a hand on it. "Look." He gripped the end of it, twisted slightly, and it came off in his hand.
You blinked, staring at the now damaged banister. "Yeah. You broke it. I'm sure America could do that too."
He let out an exasperated sigh and drug you out of the house.
"Wait, what are you-"
"I'm showing you." He turned to you, picking you up bridal style and walking into the wooded area off to the side of his home. He buried you face in his shoulder and began to run.
You where confused, why was he going to such extremes for this trick?
After a few minutes of him running in silence, not even panting or breaking a sweat, he finally spoke up.
"Look up, ____. And tell me where we are."
You complied, prying your head from his shoulder and glancing around.
This place was.
"Budapest in Hungary!" You breathed, blinking in surprised.
"Correct. And where were we just a few moments ago?"
"Your home outside of Bucharest. How did we get here...?"
"Tell me, what is a few qualities you think of when you heard the word 'Vampire'?"
"They're super strong, have super speed and..." You stared up at him for a moment, your eyes wide.
"And?" He looked down at you, a glint in his red eyes.
"They..." You swallowed, shaking in his arms slightly. "They drink... blood."
"Yes. But don't fret, my dear. You have nothing to fear from me." He looked at you for a moment, then turned back the direction you had came.
~Le time skip~
It's been a few months after Romania told you his secret, and you still stayed his friend.
You finally got an in depth look into the life of a vampire, and you had to say, it was nothing like all those books and movies ever depict it out to be.
It was better.
He showed you what he did, how and what he ate.
You where surprised to find out that he did not actually feed on human's, but on animals. You couldn't help but to think how familiar that was, but couldn't place your finger on where you had heard it before.
You where as happy as you could be, you would visit his house every other day, and he would visit yours in the time between. As you spent more time with him, you realised just how much you liked him, and vice versa.
You became a couple, doing things as couples did, though he had to be mindful of your more delicate form.
You had been dating for a year before he finally popped the question.
'Will you marry me?'
And in return, your reply was yes, on one condition, if he turned you into a vampire as well.
And so, the night after you where wed, he turned you. And now you both have been living peacefully together for many years now.
And no. You didn't have children before you turned.
What do you think this is?
